Lakers Rally Past Celtics in Overtime Thriller at TD Garden
LeBron James scored 38 points as the Lakers overcame a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Boston 128-125 in overtime.

The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off one of their most impressive victories of the season Thursday night, rallying from a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Boston Celtics 128-125 in overtime at TD Garden.

LeBron James led the comeback effort with 38 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Anthony Davis added 31 points and 12 rebounds in the thrilling contest. The victory improved the Lakers record to 32-22, keeping them firmly in playoff position in the competitive Western Conference.

Boston appeared to have control of the game entering the final quarter, leading 98-83 behind strong performances from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tatum finished with 35 points and 8 rebounds, while Brown contributed 28 points and 6 assists. However, the Lakers defense tightened considerably in the fourth quarter, forcing several key turnovers that fueled their comeback.

The turning point came with 4:32 remaining in regulation when James hit consecutive three-pointers to cut the deficit to single digits. D'Angelo Russell then knocked down a crucial three-pointer with 1:47 left, bringing the Lakers within three points. Davis tied the game with 23 seconds remaining on a putback dunk, sending the contest to overtime.

In the extra period, both teams traded baskets before James took control. The 39-year-old superstar scored 8 of his team's 13 overtime points, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 1:12 remaining. Russell sealed the victory with free throws in the final seconds after being fouled on a three-point attempt.

The loss dropped Boston to 38-16, though they maintain their position atop the Eastern Conference standings. Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla praised his team's effort but acknowledged they needed to execute better in crucial moments. Lakers coach Darvin Ham called it one of the team's best performances of the season, highlighting their resilience and championship mentality.
