FaZe Clan Upsets G2 Esports to Win CS2 Major Championship in Front of Record-Breaking Arena Crowd
The North American organization captured their second Major title with a thrilling 16-14 victory on Mirage in the final map of a best-of-five series.

FaZe Clan completed one of the most remarkable comeback stories in Counter-Strike history on Friday night at the Uber Arena in Berlin, defeating heavily favored G2 Esports 16-14 on Mirage to capture the CS2 Major Championship in front of a record-breaking crowd of 17,000 passionate fans who witnessed an instant classic final.

The victory came after FaZe had trailed 2-1 in the best-of-five series and faced a 12-6 deficit on the deciding map, but the North American organization showed incredible resilience and tactical adjustments to mount an extraordinary comeback that will go down as one of the greatest Major final performances of all time.

I cannot believe we actually did it, FaZe star rifler Twistzz said during the trophy presentation ceremony. When we were down 12-6 on Mirage, I honestly thought our tournament was over. But this team never gives up, and karrigan made some incredible calls that turned everything around. This is the greatest feeling of my career.

The turning point came during an anti-eco round in the 24th round, when FaZe in-game leader karrigan orchestrated a perfect B-site execute that caught G2 off guard and sparked the comeback. From that moment forward, FaZe looked like a completely different team, with ropz and frozen delivering clutch performances under immense pressure.

G2 had appeared destined for their first Major championship after dominating the early maps behind outstanding individual performances from NiKo and m0NESY, who combined for 47 kills through the first three maps. However, the European powerhouse seemed to tighten up as the pressure mounted, allowing FaZe to capitalize on uncharacteristic mistakes.

The capacity crowd at Uber Arena created an electric atmosphere throughout the five-hour marathon, with fans from around the world traveling to Berlin to witness what many considered the highest level of Counter-Strike ever played at a Major championship. The tournament broke multiple viewership records, with peak concurrent viewers reaching 2.1 million across all streaming platforms.

FaZe victory represents their second Major title and first since the Stockholm Major in 2021, cementing their status as one of the premier organizations in competitive Counter-Strike. The $500,000 first-place prize and Major trophy caps off an incredible tournament run that saw them defeat defending champions Natus Vincere in the semifinals.

For karrigan, the victory provides validation after years of near-misses and heartbreak in Major finals. The Danish veteran has now led two different organizations to Major championships and established himself as one of the greatest in-game leaders in Counter-Strike history. With this core group locked under contract through 2027, FaZe appears positioned for sustained success in the evolving CS2 competitive landscape.
