2026 NFL Draft: Broncos Poised to Add Linebacker Jake Golday at Pick 62
With the 2026 NFL Draft set to take place in Pittsburgh from April 23-25, the Denver Broncos are in a strong roster position heading into the three-day event. Having acquired additional picks through a blockbuster trade last month, Denver will hold seven selections overall including the 62nd pick in the second round, where mock draft analyst Jaime Eisner has the Broncos targeting Cincinnati linebacker Jake Golday.
Golday, a 6-foot-4, 239-pound defender, turned heads at the NFL Combine earlier this year, clocking a 40-yard dash in 4.62 seconds and a 20-yard shuttle in 4.34 seconds. His testing numbers suggest an athlete with the speed and change-of-direction ability to match his size.
The Bearcats product enjoyed a breakout 2025 season, racking up 105 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups and one forced fumble across 12 games. His run-defense instincts stand out, though areas of his pass coverage game remain works in progress. It is a profile that could appeal to a Broncos team with few obvious weaknesses after a promising campaign.
The Broncos dont have many holes on their roster, Eisner noted. Thats a damn good problem to have, but it makes projecting their first pick a little tough. Im going to go with a player they have visited with who can help bolster the second level of their defense.
Denver enters the draft from a position of strength. The clubs roster is largely settled, which means the staff can afford to draft for depth and future upside rather than pressing to fill immediate vacancies. Landing a player of Goldays upside at linebacker in the second round would represent a disciplined, value-driven approach to team-building.
The draft runs April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, with the Broncos holding seven picks spread across all rounds.
