NHL Network Launches Olympic Coverage with Milano Cortina 2026 Preview Show
NHL Network launched its comprehensive coverage of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on February 10 with a special preview show ahead of the men's ice hockey tournament beginning February 11. The NHL Tonight: Milano Cortina 2026 Preview Show aired at 6 p.m. ET, marking the start of extensive on-site Olympic coverage featuring some of the world's best hockey talent.
Host Jamison Coyle anchored the broadcast from Milano, Italy, joined by 2022 Team Canada Olympian and analyst Jason Demers to provide expert insights into the upcoming tournament. The preview show offered in-depth analysis of the 12 competing nations, roster breakdowns, and storylines to watch as NHL players return to Olympic competition for the first time in 12 years, ending a drought that began after the 2014 Sochi Games.
The 2026 Olympic men's hockey tournament features 146 NHL players across the participating rosters, representing the cream of professional hockey talent. Every competing nation except host Italy has stocked their 25-man rosters with NHL talent, setting up what promises to be the most competitive Olympic hockey tournament in over a decade. Superstars including Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, and Auston Matthews headline their respective national teams.
The NHL's 2025-26 regular season has been paused since the conclusion of games on February 5, with play set to resume on February 25 after the Olympic tournament concludes. The league-wide break allows players to represent their countries without the scheduling conflicts that prevented NHL participation in the 2018 PyeongChang and 2022 Beijing Olympics.
The tournament format features all 12 teams playing three preliminary games in their respective groups before advancing to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The gold medal game is scheduled for February 22. NHL Tonight: Milano Cortina 2026 presented by Honda will continue with daily coverage at 6 p.m. ET throughout the tournament, providing fans with comprehensive analysis, highlights, and features from the Olympic ice hockey competition.
