Timo Schneider stands as one of the most accomplished drivers in Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) history, having claimed two championship titles and established himself as a cornerstone of Audi's touring car dominance. Born on March 7, 1978, in Pirmasens, Germany, Schneider developed his passion for motorsport early and worked his way through the junior formulae to reach the pinnacle of touring car racing.

Schneider began his racing career in karting during the early 1990s before progressing to formula racing. He competed in Formula Ford and German Formula Three, showing promise but not finding immediate success. His breakthrough came when he transitioned to touring car racing, a discipline that perfectly suited his driving style characterized by consistency, tire management, and racecraft rather than raw speed alone.

In 2000, Schneider joined the DTM with Opel, marking the beginning of a career that would span over 15 seasons in Germany's premier touring car series. After Opel's withdrawal, he moved to Audi in 2004, a partnership that would define his career.
