Oleksandr Kostyliev, known globally by his in-game alias s1mple, was born on October 2, 1997, in Kyiv, Ukraine. From his earliest days playing Counter-Strike as a young teenager, it was clear that Kostyliev possessed an intuitive understanding of the game that set him apart from virtually every other player in the world.

S1mple's competitive career began in the CIS Counter-Strike scene, where he quickly made a name for himself with jaw-dropping highlights and an aggressive, fearless playstyle.
